Empowering Africa’s youth to tell their stories and lead through words

In every young person lies a powerful story, one of hope, resilience, achieved and unachieved dreams, transformation, and possibility.

We believe that some of the greatest books the world is yet to read will come from young people, Africans included, but if only they’re given the right platforms and guidance.

That’s why we started the Trueness Leadership Book Writing Initiative, commonly known as Write With Trueness, a groundbreaking program that identifies talented, values-driven students across African schools and mentors them through the process of co-authoring and publishing their first leadership-themed book.

Our maiden Write With Trueness program was a huge success. We identified, coached, and mentored 18 students and 2 of their teachers at Kereri Girls’ High School, Kenya, to co-author, publish, publicize, and launch the Leading Forward: Kereri Girls’ Leadership Journey book.

The Plan

During our school outreach programs, as we donate books and engage students in powerful conversations, we also scout for and select up to 20 exceptional youth per institution to become student co-authors.

These are students who demonstrate vision, character, and a desire to make a difference.

We then guide them through a transformative writing journey:

  • Coaching sessions on storytelling, leadership, and personal growth
  • Mentorship from published authors and editors
  • Collaborative writing that centers real-life leadership experiences
  • Professional editing, design, and global publishing on Amazon and other platforms

We then promote the book through press releases, social media, and any other platform available, before launching it at the Author institution.

At the end of the process, each of the handpicked students becomes a published and critically acclaimed best-selling co-author, and we also award the school with an author certificate, an achievement that not only boosts their confidence but also elevates their voice as a thought leader in their community and nation.

This initiative bridges a critical gap in African education: the ability for youth to express, reflect, and lead through written thought. It challenges young people to rise beyond test scores and instead see themselves as authors of their own leadership journey.

More importantly, these books serve as mirrors and roadmaps for other students, proving that leadership is not defined by status or titles, but by truth, courage, and selfless service.

  • High school and university students in leadership-potential institutions
  • Youth from underserved or rural communities
  • Students with a vision to impact society, but limited resources to amplify their voice
  • Over 500 youth co-authors will be nurtured through this program over the next few years
  • A growing collection of student-authored leadership books across Africa
  • A ripple effect of passionate storytelling, mentoring, and bold thinking among young Africans, leading to powerful decision-making
  • Transformative collaborations and signed MoUs with schools, libraries, and youth organizations, and various partners, leading to continued networking and growth

To successfully train, mentor, and publish a team of 20 student authors in one country, the estimated cost is $18,600 (detailed budget breakdown available)

This covers:

  • Coaching and mentorship
  • Editorial services, formatting, and publishing
  • Author honorariums and certificate awards
  • Launch events and media coverage, including internal and external, globally-distributed press releases
  • Local printing and distribution of the published books to schools and libraries

By investing in this program, you’re not just funding a book-writing initiative but giving a platform and amplifying the voice of a young African changemaker

You’re helping a high school or college student realize their potential as a published leader whose words may spark transformation in others.

Partner with us today to help shape the next generation of African storytellers, thinkers, and trailblazers, one book, one voice, one bold story at a time.
